Sign up with an email and password, then complete a short preference survey before reaching the character builder. Because Candy.ai leans heavily on generated imagery, the builder spends more time on appearance traits than personality traits compared to other companion apps -- expect more steps here than you might be used to elsewhere.

You don't need a payment method to sign up or to use the free tier, though the free tier's image generation allowance is smaller than on some competitors given how compute-intensive high-fidelity generation is.
